Left Window Centre Window Boden Brass

The south wall contains two interesting windows. The left-hand window shows Mary and Joseph presenting Jesus at the temple as a baby, and it quotes the response of the priest Simeon “Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace” (Luke 2:29). Anna is standing behind Simeon. A panel at the bottom tells us that the window was given in memory of George Orme in 1895.

The middle window shows Faith, Hope and Love, quoting the climax of 1 Corinthians chapter 13 "now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity". A panel at the bottom tells us that the window was given in memory of Leila Frances Boden who died on June 15th 1886 aged 29.

Below the middle window is a brass wall-plaque which says

To the Glory of God
and in remembrance of the 12½ years Ministry
of the Rev C.J.Boden, M.A. first Vicar of this Parish
this Brass is erected by his parishioners on his
preferment to the Living of North Wingfield,Derbyshire,
  October 1896
“And now abideth Faith, Hope, Charity, these three;
but the greatest of these is Charity.”
God is Love.
